Iglesia ni Cristo members flock to PHL Arena for 101st anniversary

(Updated 9:42 a.m.) Members of the Iglesia ni Cristo on Sunday flocked to the Philippine Arena in Bulacan to mark the religious group's 101st anniversary.

Traffic on parts of the North Luzon Expressway was heavy Saturday night to early Sunday due to the number of vehicles heading to the Philippine Arena, radio dzBB reported.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino said in a dzBB radio interview that at least 2 million people attended the anniversary at the arena.

"Palagay ko milyon din iyon. Hindi nalalayo sa anibersaryo noong isang taon," Tolentino said.

He said that it may take between 2 and 3 hours to clear the traffic around the arena.

At least two million people attended the group's 100th anniversary last year.
The North Luzon Expressway posted photos of heavy traffic at Marilao and Meycauayan in Bulacan, and in Valenzuela City (northbound) due to vehicles entering the Philippine Arena as of 4:51 a.m.
