July 27 is non-working holiday in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga, July 17 (PIA) -- July 27 is a non-working holiday in Angeles City, in line with the commemoration of the founding anniversary of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
 
Ordinance No. 263 series of 2009 says this holiday which was approved by the then Mayor Francis Nepomuceno and still Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting.

INC plants 3,000 trees in Bayog

BAYOG, Zamboanga del Sur Oct. 18 (PIA) – - The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) in coordination with the local government unit of Bayog conducted a tree planting activity on Sunday (October 16) at Sitio Quibranza, Barangay Kahayagan, this municipality.

The said activity was participated by approximately 2,000 members of the said religious group from the 62 local church of the 26 municipalities of the province including some municipalities from Zamboanga Sibugay. The group planted 3,000 rubber seedlings in a six hectare portion of Bayog EcoPark.

Locals wary of new neighbors, Iglesia Ni Cristo

SCENIC, South Dakota - The area purchased by a powerful Philippine church was once a cowboy town that locals describe as “a piece of history.”

Today, the remnant of the Wild West belongs to the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

The few who visited the ghost town in South Dakota are not happy.

“My mixed feelings are the church's Christ bought it and there's a lot of history here. What to they know about it?” said Dan Carr, who works for the township.

Carr helps maintain the garage that houses the township’s two fire trucks.

World’s biggest dome to rise in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, October 14 (PIA) -- By 2014, Bulacan will outshine the world’s major cities of Los Angeles, London, and Seoul as history is being written here - Bulacan will be the site of the world’s largest dome.

Religious sect Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) funded P9 billion for the building of the said dome named Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bocaue town which is expected to be completed by 2014 for the group’s centennial celebration.

Iglesia Ni Cristo buys town in South Dakota

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) church now owns the town of Scenic, South Dakota, after purchasing the 46-acre property for over $700,000.

According to reports from CNBC, 74-year old Twyla Merrill, a rancher, put the property up for sale two years ago for $3 million, after her health deteriorated due to cancer.

Artist cites court ruling involving Iglesia Ni Cristo

Cruz cited a Supreme Court ruling in favor of the Iglesia Ni Cristo religious sect whose TV show had been given an X-rating by the censors’ board for attacking the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Then Chief Justice Reynato Puno, who wrote the decision, said government censors were wrong when they tried to squelch the INC, adding that “it is not the task of the State to favor any religion by protecting it against an attack by another religion.”
