Iglesia members conduct cleanup on Airport, Msgr. Guerrero roads

OVER 300 members of the Iglesia ni Cristo, or Church of Christ, participated in the clean and green program on Sunday, church minister Manuel Jatulan said yesterday.

“The big turnout was unexpected,” he added.

The clean and green event is one of the major undertakings of the “INC  Giving” program this month, he added, and was held with the other Iglesia branches in the Pacific region.

Dozens participate in the Monroe County Watershed Cleanup

Dozens of people plucked discarded fishing line, cigarette butts and other trash from the shores of Lake Ontario and the Greece ponds Saturday morning.

The groups were collecting litter near Braddock Bay, Buck and Long ponds and Payne Beach, as part of the annual Monroe County Watershed Cleanup project.

“I found two glass bottles!” yelled Katelyn Geraci, 7, of Greece, who was collecting trash with her Girl Scout troop in Goodwin Park.

INC and other organizations apply for international trademarks

THE INTELLECTUAL Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) expects more applications for international trademarks now that the country has acceded to the Madrid Protocol.

"We expect many firms who want to expand internationally to apply for the trademarks because there are a number of designations. In fact, one application usually means there are several trademarks involved," IPOPHL Director Ricardo R. Blancaflor said in a recent telephone interview.

No Capitol funds in Gwen’s newspaper ads greeting INC

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia spent   her own money to pay for national newspaper advertisements to greet the Iglesia ni Cristo on its 98th founding anniversary last Friday.
No public funds were used, said Elizabeth Francia, the governor’s chief of staff, to queries about the  greeting ads for the block-voting religious sect.  The quarter-page full color ad showed Garcia’s photo, the seal of the Province of Cebu and the message “We are one in spirit, one in unity and one in nation building.”

Palace greets Iglesia ni Cristo on its 98th anniversary

Malacanang extended its greetings to the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) which is marking its 98th anniversary today, July 27.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte extended the greetings during the regular press briefing on Friday in Malacanang.

July 27 is “Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Day,” a special national working holiday, pursuant to Republic Act 9645, which was signed on June 12, 2009.

The law recognizes “the exemplary feat of INC in leading its members towards spiritual enlightenment and good citizenry.”

INC’s activities for its 98th Anniversary were designed to prepare millions of its followers for its centennial celebration in 2014.

City Council greets Iglesia on founding anniversary

THE City Council of Bacolod in a resolution authored by Councilors Caesar Distrito, Em Ang, El Cid Familiaran, Al Victor Espino, Carl Lopez and Mona Dia Jardin, greeted the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) on its 98th Founding Anniversary tomorrow, July 27.

The INC celebration is anchored on the theme "Intense Propagation of the Words of God.”

JULY 27, 2012 is “Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Day,” a special national working holiday, pursuant to Republic Act 9645, signed on June 12, 2009, to recognize “the exemplary feat of INC in leading its members towards spiritual enlightenment and good citizenry.” This year, the INC is celebrating its 98th Anniversary, with activities designed to prepare its millions of followers for the church’s centennial in 2014. INC was established by “Ka” (Brother) Felix Y. Manalo, its first Executive Minister, in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila, on July 14, 1914.
